About

morard.art is an independent gallery and curatorial platform dedicated to figurative painting, with a particular focus on the research, presentation and preservation of contemporary artistic practices. Founded by Baptiste Morard, the gallery currently presents the work of Swiss painter Patrice Morard and develops The Patrice Morard Archives, an ongoing project dedicated to documenting, organising and progressively making accessible the artist’s extensive body of work. Through exhibitions, curatorial research and the progressive publication of the artist’s archive, morard.art brings together more than four decades of painting, tracing the evolution of Patrice Morard’s practice from the 1980s to the present day. The platform offers an evolving view of an artistic career shaped across decades, bringing together works from different periods while highlighting the continuity, development and transformation of the artist’s visual language.

The gallery’s approach places equal importance on the individual artwork and the wider context surrounding its creation. By presenting works alongside archival material and historical documentation, morard.art seeks to create a comprehensive record of the artist’s practice and to provide a deeper understanding of the ideas, processes and developments that have informed his work throughout his career. The Patrice Morard Archives form an integral part of this initiative. Progressively developed and published through morard.art, the archive brings together works spanning multiple decades, creating an extensive chronological record of Patrice Morard’s artistic production. Each presentation contributes to an expanding body of documentation that allows the evolution of his painting to be followed across time, from early works of the 1980s through subsequent periods and into his current practice.

Rather than treating the archive as a static historical record, morard.art approaches it as an evolving curatorial project. New works, documents and information are progressively incorporated, allowing the platform to develop alongside the continued study and presentation of the artist’s work. With a focus on figurative painting, historical continuity and long-term documentation, morard.art provides a dedicated space for the presentation and study of Patrice Morard’s work, connecting paintings from across his career and making an extensive artistic archive progressively accessible to audiences, collectors and those interested in the development of figurative painting.
